Hoo boy. This reading was an intense one — fitting, seeing as how we’re in the thick of eclipse season! April finds us fresh off of last week’s lunar eclipse in Libra, staring down the barrel of a solar eclipse in Aries and (everyone’s favorite)…Mercury entering retrograde, on April Fool’s Day no less. Some of us (ahem ahem) have already been getting their shit rocked by eclipse season. If this reading’s any indication, we’re all in the same boat there…or we’re about to be. Eep.
Pop Culture Corner
Shaz saw Mitski this weekend and immediately found herself defending the gal’s definitive Rock Icon status to *sigh* her boyfriend. The great debate: if queen, why not pop? If small woman, why head bang? “Bedroom pop” said he…a concession was made towards “folk.” Keep the following in mind PALS: that bitch ROCKS, all gas no breaks (except for a couple charming interludes), and her lighting designer deserves a raise. Standout track: “I’m Your Man.” She sure is ours. This queen defies The Musical Establishment and its expectations of her with siren-esque ease. So too should we all this April, with faith in ourselves and a song in our hearts.
In other news, we’re not even close to emotionally ready to discuss Cowboy Carter yet. Safe to say that the yeehaw agenda is alive and well, and we support it!
The Reading

Cue the nervous laughter…
With the Tower as our overall energy, the Knight of Wands as our opportunity, and the Devil as our challenge card…April promises to be, well, a lot. In case we didn’t make it abundantly clear in this episode: this reading does not spell doom for every one of us all. Some of us might encounter a real Tower moment in our own lives, while others might just be especially attuned to chaos on the collective level. Whether you’re moving through a period of wildly destabilizing changes (welcome to the party) or simply trying to catch your breath in between the latest catastrophic headlines, the choice this month is clear: we can choose to face the mayhem head-on or internalize it and spiral.
Which do you want to embrace this month: the cowboy, or your inner demons? From this spread, it’s pretty clear which path will take you to thrillingly uncharted territory, and which will keep you buried in the rubble of the Tower (oof, dark).

Luckily, we have some really calming, grounding guidance to close out this reading. Very “if [spirit/source/the universe] can lead you to it, it can lead you through it” vibes. Emily Dickinson is also, interestingly, a figure who very much toed the line between devotion (the Knight) and obsession with her craft to the exclusion of all else (the Devil). Her life and work can either be a source of inspiration or a cautionary tale, depending on how you look at it. Or maybe she’s just here to cheer on her actual scientifically confirmed descendant, Taylor Swift, whose next album coincidentally comes out this month. (Check out our predictions for her next album/era here and here if you haven’t already).
Moving forward, we’re shifting to posting podcast episodes every other week so we can hopefully be a bit more consistent. See you in two weeks for our next mildly irresponsible tarot reading…about what, we’re not sure yet!
