Eclipse season keeps on eclipsing and, frankly, we’re spiraling a bit. So this week, we thought we’d do a reading about what’s coming next. Specifically, what blessings, good fortune, or positive transformations are in store — for us here on the pod and anyone listening, watching, or reading. We didn’t even realize how on the nose this reading really is, given that Jupiter’s set to conjunct Uranus in Taurus for the first time in over 80 years (!!) on April 20th.

What better way to solve for existential panic than silly little hacks that make our silly little lives a bit more pleasant?
is going to friendship jail for not relaying a crucial life update: she’s shelling out on skincare and getting into skin cycling. She’s glowing, it’s working, we love to see it. is trying to solve life puzzles big and small by…going on long walks. Jury’s out on whether this actually works, but so far it’s a hesitant thumbs-up. Can’t hurt, right? The Reading

This is actually quite the cute little reading…made even cuter by that Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus coming at us later this week, which promises slow-moving but surprising growth and blessings. Taurus is represented across the spread here: as one of the three earth signs the King of Pentacles rules over, one of the four fixed signs in the World, and as the sign most firmly associated with the Hierophant. And of course, Bounty as our little bonus oracle card message feels very Taurean. Hello!!
To us, these cards in conversation with each other feel like a very clear sense of evolution from mastering the Pentacles-y area of your life—your career, your finances, your relationships, your physical body and health—as a portal into feeling a little bit more like the master of your fate. The way that we cross the divide from the King of Pentacles to the Hierophant is through the World: connecting to the world, envisioning all the different versions of ourselves it could contain.
And through that transmutation, we arrive at the Hierophant: the archetypal Taurus. Historically, this card has sometimes been referred to as the Pope, and we think it’s a useful frame for understanding hidden layers within this card. Even though it seems to be very much about rigidity and rules and order, it's actually about holding two truths at the same time. The Pope as a figure has one foot in the domain of religion, spirituality and the intangible, and the other in the realm of politics, bureaucracy, and power. Those things can often feel contradictory (hello, separation of church and state!), but we can choose to look at this card as a way to embrace all of those parts of yourself. The three figures in the card can even represent the id, ego, and superego, if you want to get Freudian about it (and we often do). In essence, this card can be about finding your mentor, or becoming your own greatest teacher.
In our little post-show debrief, we agreed that the best way for us to put this into practice is…to do The Artist’s Way together. Shenel’s attempted it three times but never finished. Shaz has a copy from Shenel collecting dust. We’re saying all of this here so we have to actually be accountable to somebody.
Next time we’ll chat about how that’s actually going, as well as debrief on all things Tortured Poets Department—were we even somewhat close in our predictions? Let’s find out!
